Just got this picture of Nadia TODAY!!! One of our facilitators, Serge, is over in Nadia's orphanage helping another family bring home their daughter, Svetlana, and was able to take updated photos of a lot of the Reece's Rainbow Kids. This picture makes me smile because it looks like she has about 5 layers of clothing on which we found out is the norm in her country. In fact, if we take her outside (over there) with less than a few layers, we would be looked down on as being bad parents. The same rule applies in the summer months as well. Very interesting! Either way, we're thrilled to see our daughter looking healthy and quite well fed! :) Can't wait to get her home so she can maybe move around a little bit without all of those clothes on!!! I'm sweating just looking at her! ha ha ha LOVE THAT FACE!!!

Aw she is such a cutie pie! I just want to eat her up (not really:))! I'm KNOW you were so excited to see an updated picture of your soon-to-be toddler! I'm SURE when she gets to live with her WONDERFUL new family she will be happy to take those layers off (ESPECIALLY in the summer)I'm counting down to the days till you get your little girl (and my cousin)!!!
ReplyDeleteYummy, yummy, yum, yum!!! She looks great! China is the same way...they are all about the layers!!! Cannot wait to see Nadia in her new home!! Dinner was wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lis
Oh my goodness, my friend, that is such a HUGE blessing that you got that!!!! Yayeeeee. I know it's as precious as gold to you :)
ReplyDeleteShe is just absolutely ADORABLE!!!! Cannot wait to see that treasure in your arms soon.
Yep--China is the same. We had many a bad word said to us because our daughters were overdressed. Whatever!
That is so cool that you can get more pictures. I am a bit jealous.
ReplyDeleteI love the layers! YOu should see some of Alex's baby pictures! Haha! And she is SOOOOO cute! I cant wait!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...she is precious!! The layers...argh...they do that in China, too. The poor kids don't learn to crawl or walk on time because they can't move. It's like the kid in The Christmas Story movie..."I can't put my arms down!"
ReplyDeleteI would count the layers everyday! The most was 6 for Artiom, and his head was wet with sweat under his hat. Crazy.
ReplyDeleteShe's adorable :)
Hooray! Praise GOd for updates! She is precious!
ReplyDeleteShe is soooo adorable!!!! Love her face too.
ReplyDeleteShe is simply adorable! She even looks like the rest of your family! I know it feels like years away but she'll be home before you know it!
ReplyDeleteYep. That looks familiar! She's the cutest chubbiest thing ever. Makes you want to kiss those cheeks.
ReplyDeleteTanner looks like that in his new picture too! That's why I cropped it! Makes him look fat, ha! And they have him dressed in a girl's sweater, ugh! I hope we see you in Zap! We live about an hour from Reading...near Allentown. We are soooo excited to be so close!
ReplyDeleteKristin- what a BEAUTIFUL picture of your sweet little girl! I know you are so happy to have that. She looks nice and warm too! I can't wait to see her in a sundress and flip flops roaming around here :)
ReplyDeletethis is your son Michael either she is chubby or she has a million layers on lol g2g by
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see a big smile to go with all the chubb!! Definitely need to go for bigger clothes initially until she fits right into the Ferguson groove!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you, dear one!
What a great shot of your beautiful little girl! I can tell her face is changing and she looks so adorable and HEALTHY and happy! I know you al will be glad to have this "pregnancy" behind you and be together as a family! I am so encouraged by your post and all of your fans and supporters of this endeavor! Isn't great to have such loving comments by so many people that are cheering you! I pray that you don't "faint or grow weary" and that you feel the Everlasting Arms carrying you upward and onward on this journey! Keep up the great work Kristin, you truly inspire me to be the best I can be for the Lord! Thanks and I love you....
ReplyDeletelol! Oh yes, she's bundled alright! We China parents laugh about the scores of "clothing police" that will absolutely come up to you and shake their finger at you, all the while pulling your child's pant legs down to cover up that (gasp) skin between them and their socks!!
ReplyDeleteShe looks teeny tiny---so sweet and adorable and she does look like the rest of your kiddos!Fun, I bet you have started scrap booking for her now that you have another pic :) Yummy Yum!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through another adopting blogging friend. I hope you do not mind if I follow your blog. I am not able to adopt myself due to health issues but I love to watch the little ones come home to a loving family.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is such a cutie pie. I agree I am sweating looking at all those clothes too. LOL!

When we first saw pictures of our niece, Bailey in China, she looked similar. When my brother finally got her, she was trim but doing very well. She was 13 months old when they got her and is a beautiful 10 year old now, learning how to play guitar and skate boards and bikes in New York City. Nadia's eyes sparkle. Bailey looked rather sad/sort of a hurt look until she settled into her new home and then that look went away and she looks content. Blessings, Lynn Dixon
