April Fool's Day!

Here is how the pound cake with icing "grilled cheese" sandwich gag turned out. I ended up having to make it for dinner because the kids were hovering around the kitchen at lunch time making it impossible to tint the icing and slice the pound cake without being noticed.

I'll let the pictures of their individual reactions do the talking. It was a yummy surprise! :)

Hope you and your family had a fun day celebrating this 1st day of April! Welcome Spring!

  2. Ok so first of all i didnt fall for it i immediatlty knew it wasnt grille cheese and the first thing out of my mouth was, "Do we have some real grilled cheese cause im really hungry," and secondly the pound cake was great but the icing was so-so only because i am DEFFINATLY NOT an icing person. but any way it was a good joke and it is sorta a tradition so its just like waiting for the shoe to drop (so to speak)(and my mom made me put shoe to drop because i couldnt thing of anything else.

  5. Where do you get your ideas? You could publish a book, "Fun April Fools Day Foods". It would be a hit! Happy April Fools Day to all of your family.
