Blog Buddies

I had the privilege while out in Colorado to meet, in person, a very special blog buddy. Of course she beat me on posting about our afternoon together on her blog http://www.nogreaterjoymom.com/ but that doesn't surprise me since she's the Blog Queen!

Adeye is adopting 2 little girls with Down syndrome from the same country we are and I originally got in touch with her before I even knew we'd be going down this path of adoption as well. I thought I could encourage her in bringing a daughter with Ds into their family since we're already 12yrs. into that journey. However, I've found that I'm receiving much needed encouragement from her blog entries as well as those of others I enjoy reading (see my blog list on the right side panel). I love how God even uses the internet to build up the Body of Christ!!

For those of you who read Adeye's blog and have never been able to listen to her in person--boy are you missing out!! She has this fabulous accent that I've been trying to imitate ever since meeting her. AND she's just as passionate about life, adoption, her family, and of course her relationship with God in person as she is on her blog. I considered our afternoon icing on this new and delicious cake we're getting to share in the adoption world.

Of course, I never would have gotten to know Adeye if it weren't for my dear friend Lisa who shares the same passions and convictions. Since she never posts pictures of herself on her blog, I'm posting one of her here as well.

And here is Adeye, in chilly Colorado. Thanks again for a great afternoon my friend!!!

  1. Definately calendar material. "The Women of Blog World" calendar. I can just see it flying off the shelves, rendering so much profit that we can bankroll everybody's adoption and a few more!

  3. Blog Queen??? Are you kidding me. I'm the worst of them all--I spell all wrong, either forget to use, or over-use the comma, have no idea about punctuation. I need HELP with all this stuff...and some English lessons :)

I had such a fabulous time too, my friend. Can't wait to see you down South :)

Thank you for your prayers today. I have had such a cr*ppy day. Oh my word. Just found out ANOTHER document has some wording that is just not perfect :( Aaaggghhhhh!!!!!

  4. Isn't it amazing that God places people in our lives that we would not have otherwise met? Take you and I for example! You were such an encouraging inspiration for me when I met you through having Josi in my VBS class when Emma was just 4 months old. Hard to believe almost 7 years have gone by! God had his hand all over that, just as he does with your adoption. I'm glad you got to meet Adeye. She seems lovely! God bless you both for helping make a difference in this world! By the way, I updated my blog just for you Kristin!! :)I'm feeling down about the lack of readers.

  5. Wow, you bloggers need to buy stock in tissues becuz all your readers are definitely going thru them!! Thanks for being 'real' in all that you write :) It is encouraging for all of us mothers, regardless of how God gave us our precious gifts/children! Love you,Kris--wish I lived nearby to closely see this process, but thankful that you chose to share your journey this way. Thanks also for sharing Nella's story, sweet little bunny!!!
